Government of Republic of Maldives Decides to Adopt Japanese System of Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting for MNBC(Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation), the state-owned broadcaster (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Website)

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has decided to adopt the Japanese system (8MHz ISDB-T) as its standard terrestrial digital television broadcasting system for MNBC(Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation), the state-owned broadcaster. This was officially announced on the afternoon of October 19 in a joint declaration of the adoption of the Japanese system signed by Takashi Morita, Japan’s Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and Thoyyib Mohamed Waheed, the Maldives’ Minister of State for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
